How is Stained Glass Made?
For each project I start with a blank sheet of paper and a pencil. After completing my design the glass selection process begins. There are many different styles of glass varying in texture, level of opaqueness, depth of color and types of pattern and design. When choosing glass I take all of these elements into consideration in order to find the best option for my current design.
Once the pattern is designed and the glass is chosen then I start the build. This is a multistep process including hand cutting each piece, grinding to create a perfect fit and clean up any rough edges, wrapping each piece in copper foil (Tiffany method) or lead came and then finally fusing the finished product with flux and solder. Finally each piece receives a through cleaning, patina to created desired finish of solder lines, additional cleaning and waxing to finish.
Each piece is a unique work of art that represents many hours of work and decades of developing the skills for excellent craftsmanship.

Please Note: This piece is created using the best materials (including real high quality glass that will not fade) and attention to detail to ensure its quality, however, due to the fragile nature of glass, it is always recommended to handle with care.
Handling: Stained glass items contain lead, which may be hazardous if ingested. As a precaution, please wash your hands after handling and keep away from children and pets.
Cleaning: Your glass piece has been cleaned and is protected with a wax polish finish. Other than gentle dusting, your piece may never need to be cleaned. If cleaning is necessary, place item on a flat surface and gently buff with a damp, soft cloth. Do not use products containing vinegar, ammonia, or acid-based cleaners. Be sure to take care with edges and to apply light pressure to avoid breakage.
